How do I sign in?

Type your email in the sign-in card. We email you a link that works once, for 15 minutes. There's no password. During the private beta, only invited emails can sign in; anyone else joins the waitlist.

What can Automanton do today?

Answer questions and help with writing, planning, code and analysis; read images and PDFs you attach; take dictation; and show your usage and connected Stripe or Shopify numbers on the start screen. Hands (the cloud browser) is in development.

How do I connect my AI?

Automanton runs on your own AI account. Open Connections (the plug icon in the chat bar), pick a provider under Your AI, and paste an API key. Automanton checks the key with the provider, encrypts it and never shows it again. You can connect more than one; Automanton uses the best model each one has for the job.

• Groq: the fastest free option. Create a key at console.groq.com/keys. A Groq key also powers voice input.
• Google Gemini: has a free tier. Create a key at aistudio.google.com/apikey. On the free tier, Google may use what you send to improve its products, and the Pro models aren't included.
• OpenAI: create a key at platform.openai.com/api-keys; your OpenAI account needs credit. An OpenAI key also powers voice input.
• Anthropic (Claude): create a key at console.anthropic.com/settings/keys; your account needs credit.
• OpenRouter: one key for models from many providers, at openrouter.ai/keys. Its free models have low daily limits.
• Mistral: create a key at console.mistral.ai/api-keys.
• xAI (Grok): create a key at console.x.ai.
• Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint: choose OpenAI-compatible, then enter its https address (usually ending in /v1) and key.

Free tiers can be slow or busy at peak times. When a model is busy, Automanton tries your next one and tells you in the chat. A paid key is faster and more reliable. If you add billing to a provider later, connect the key again so Automanton picks up the models it now includes.

What do the tags on each reply mean?

Automanton sorts each message into Quick, Vision, Coding or Reasoning and answers with your best model for it. The tags show the kind and the model that answered. To choose the model yourself, open Connections and change it under AI models.

Why is a reply slow?

Replies come from your AI provider, so their speed is its speed. Free tiers especially can take a while when busy; Automanton moves to another of your models after 30 seconds without an answer.

Does it keep working when I close the tab?

Yes. Replies, Hands runs and research run in the cloud, so you can close the tab and come back to the chat later. If Hands needs your OK or your help while you're away, it closes its browser (to save browser minutes), emails you a link, and waits up to a day; when you answer, it reopens the page and checks with you once more before it acts.

How do I schedule a task?

Type it in the chat with when, for example "every Monday at 9am send me a summary of last week's revenue", "every weekday at 7:30 check for new invoices" or "tomorrow at 7am remind me to call the bank". Automanton shows a card to confirm (and lets you choose an answer or Hands), runs it in your timezone, and emails you the result. See and pause them under your email → Scheduled tasks. Browser minutes are limited during the beta: 3 a day per person.

Can I turn off the emails?

Yes: your email (top left) → Email updates. Automanton sends at most 10 a day, and only about tasks you started or scheduled.

What does Automanton remember about me?

When you mention something lasting, like what your business sells or which tools you use, Automanton remembers it and shows "Remembered: …" under the reply, with Undo. Open your email (top left) → What Automanton knows about you to see, edit or delete everything, or switch off learning.

Why was my message refused?

Every message is checked first. Requests for malware, weapons, fraud, harassment or any sexual content involving minors are declined.

Does it cost anything?

Automanton itself is free during the private beta, and pricing will be announced at launch. Your AI provider may charge you for what you use, at its own prices. See Pricing.

How do I delete a chat?

Open Chats, then click Delete twice next to the chat. Its messages are deleted.

How do I delete my account?

Open the account menu (your email, top left) and choose Delete my account, then type your email to confirm. This deletes your chats, saved connections and usage, cancels your subscription if you have one, and signs you out on every device. It can't be undone.
